Sweet Dissonance tells America's story through the sonic lens of our protest music, leading the audience through the Civil War, the Suffrage Movement, the Labor Movement, the Vietnam War, and the Civil Rights Movement. You'll hear music by Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Joan Baez, Neal Young, Billie Holiday and many more.



About the show
Our performers guide the audience through the rich history of protest music in America, from the Civil War to Civil Rights.

Using various instruments and lush harmonies, we emphasize the essential role that music played in pushing our country forward toward that promise of a more perfect union.

Sweet Dissonance is a production that can be tailored to fit any venue, whether it be a main stage theater, a cabaret club, a school, or a library. The length of the show can be a full two act production or a shortened 45 minute to 1 hour length for a school setting.
